Rock Bridge Camp offers private and shared Bedouin tents surrounded by Wadi Rum’s scenic rock formations. It has a great location for visitors wanting to explore the natural beauty of the Jordanian desert.

The traditional Bedouin tents are decorated with oriental carpets and colorful clothes. Thick mattresses and warm blankets are provided. Shower and bathrooms are shared.

The Bedouins prepare daily dinner and lunch meals, such as the traditional rice dish Mansaf and grilled meats. Guests are invited to participate in the cooking.

Rock Bridge Camp offers 4-wheeldrive jeep tours to several highlights of Wadi Rum’s desert. Also offered are horse and camel riding and night-time entertainment with live music.

Rock Bridge Camp runs a free shuttle service to Wadi Rum Visitors Center, along with a travel information desk.

My name is Salem, Salem Hamad Al Zalabieh
I was born here, in the desert Wadi Rum and I spend now my life between wadi rum village and the desert.
Wadi Rum  وادي رم‎  is very big desert full of natural and historical treasures.
Wadi Rum also known as The Valley of the Moon is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in south Jordan  at 60 km to the east of Aqaba. It is the largest wadi in Jordan. The name Rum most likely comes from anAramaic root meaning 'high' or 'elevated'. To reflect its proper Arabic pronunciation, archaeologists transcribe it as Wadi Ramm. The highest elevation in Wadi Rum is Mount Um Dami at more than 1800m above sea level.
Everywhere, in this timeless and empty place, are indications of man's presence since the earliest known times. Archaeologists are certain that the Wadi Rum area was inhabited in the Prehistoric periods, mainly the Neolithic period between the 8th and 6th centuries BC, and was known as Wadi Iram. Fresh water springs made Rum a meeting center for caravans heading towards Syria and Palestine from Arabia.
More recently, Wadi Rum was the headquarters of Prince Feisal bin Al-Hussein and T.E. Lawrence during World War I, to fight for the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire. Lawrence became a legendary figure for his key role in the fight for the Arab cause. He made his home in this magical area. Ain Asshallaleh, also known as Lawrence's Spring is just a short walk up the hillside from the Nabataean temple. The mountain aptly known as the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, was named by T.E. Lawrence, and was the inspiration for the title of his book of the same name.
My Recommandations
What to bring
I will take care of everything that may you need in the desert, except for the following personal items that I suggest you bring along with you:
Sleeping bag Good shoes for scrambling (boots are preferable) and if possible sandals, which will be more comfortable for walking in the sand.
Headlamp: you will need it for the night time.
Sun cream: to protect yourself from the sun.
Small Bag to carry your camera and water.
Meeting Point
I will meet you at the Wadi Rum Visitors' Centre upon their arrival.
I always try to be a half hour earlier than my guests, but if you arrive before me for any reason ask the reception at the centre to call me! If you think that you will arrive at Wadi Rum earlier or later than I arrange, call or text (SMS) me and I will easily accommodate your changes.
After arriving
When you arrive at the Visitors' Centre, I will meet you there. From there, we will go to my Home and drink tea in Wadi Rum village (6 Km from the centre). We will discuss your trip over Bedouin tea or coffee, and make any changes you desire. After this, we will be ready to spend together an adventure you will never forget!
Parking
If you come with a rental Car, you can park it safely next to our house in Wadi Rum village.
Transportation
I can  arrange a taxi or bus for you from anywhere in Jordan to Wadi Rum and from Wadi rum to anywhere in Jordan at the beginning or end of your trip.
Difficulty level
The difficulty changes depending on which trip you choose, but for the most part trips are accessible for everyone, regardless of experience or physical capability. While walking and scrambling, we use a variety of mule paths, tracks, or sand roads. You don't need to be sporty to enjoy our trips!
Food & Drinks
Food: Hospitality is very important to the Bedouin culture. It is our aim to cook our You will have the chance to try traditional Bedouin dishes such as Mansaf and Zarb, as well as Arabic rice and soup. A vegetarian diet is available upon request – please contact me if you have any special dietary requirements, and I will do my best to meet your needs.
The desert is my life and I work in the desert as a guide for more than 25 years.
I know this desert very well and I will show you the best as well as some places, which are not popular .
Wadi Rum is very big, it is better to have some time to discover it and I suggest you to come to trek for 5 or 7 days. moreover, the best time to come is in the Early Spring and Autumn’s clear. Days are sunny and moderate temperatures make that period the best time to visit. March and the first half of April are said to be best, and you should find some flowers briefly in bloom
